| Kitzbuhel Overview |
Kitzbuehel is Austria's largest skiing area, and is where hard-core skiers and the rich and famous go for unforgettable skiing holidays.
This beautiful 9th century alpine town has remained largely unspoilt, eventhough it is one of the most glamorous and commercial ski resort town in Austria.

| Kitzbuhel Essentials |
Parish Church - Near the centre of town. This beautiful church was built from 1435 to 1506 and was renovated in the baroque style in the 18th century. This is a sight not to be missed when visiting Kitzbuehel.
Heimatmuseum, - Hinterstadt 32. This museum is one of Kitzbuehel's main attractions and exhibits the town's culture and history. The museum houses artifacts from the town's mines; prehistoric times; and the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages
Skiing - Skiing is after all the main reason why most people go to Kitzbuehel in winter, and there are many different slopes to choose from. There are also a range of other winter sports on offer, including ski-bobbing; ski jumping; ice-skating; tobogganing; and snow boarding.
Wild Life Park - Aurach, just out of town. If you are visiting Kitzbuehel in summer, this park is one of the places not to miss. The park is home to many alpine animals that all run free in their natural habitats. This is a great place to take the children for a fun day out.
,b>Schwarzsee,/b> - 15-minute walk from the centre of town. This beautiful alpine lake is a great place to go to get away from the busier tourist life of Kitzbuehel and relax amongst nature. There are a few lovely beaches on the shores of the lake, including Seiwald Boosverleih, which is one of the most popular.

| Kitzbuhel Calendar - Pick of the Year's Events |
Winter Opening (5-8 December 2004) - This annual festival celebrates the season opening of the winter resort of Kitzbuehel. There are many activities taking place, including après ski fun; night-skiing; and tobogganing.
Advent Market (2-20 December) - This annual Christmas market is one of the highlights on the Kitzbuehel event calendar. Every Saturday during December the town comes alive with colourful stalls and people singing Christmas carols all over town. |
